Registration
Registration is now open for the Society of Southwest Archivists Annual Meeting in Albuquerque, NM on April 26-29, 2023. The event will be held at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town (800 Rio Grande Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104) and online for a hybrid experience.
We are excited to offer two great pre-conference workshops.
Workshop 1: Approaches to Digitization of Archival Collections: A Hybrid Model
Workshop 2: Personal Military Records and the Virtual Footlocker Project Curriculum
For this year’s repository tours, we are offering in-person and virtual options. Please let us know if you require wheelchair-accessible transportation between the hotel and tour sites.
- Albuquerque Museum Photo Archives – Note: this tour is FULL
- Albuquerque Public Library Special Collections – Note: this tour is FULL. The original public library in its historic building
- Center for Southwest Research (CSWR) – Note: this tour is FULL. Tour one of the most beautiful special collections libraries in the Duke City!
- NPS Chaco Culture National Historical Park Archives (on UNM campus) – Note: this tour is FULL
- Historic Fairview Cemetery – Discover some of ABQ’s most famous- and notorious-residents. NOTE: This tour is outside and on uneven ground-wear serious shoes. Not wheelchair accessible.
- National Hispanic Cultural Center – Note: this tour is FULL. Special tour of the Library & Archives
- New Mexico Museum of Natural History– Note: this tour is FULL. “Behind the Scenes with Dinosaurs”

Library & Archives Open House & IPCC Museum Admission
For any and all not already on a tour, the Library and Archives at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center will be hosting an Open House from 4-5pm on Friday, April 28. Museum admission is also included, so head over before the reception to see some of the incredible collections. Starting at 3:30pm, trolleys will take you from the hotel to the IPCC. Transportation will run continuously between hotel and IPCC until 7:30pm.
